Plans to begin realization of 7 Union State R&D programs in 2023

BREST, 24 March (BelTA) – The realization of seven R&D programs of the Union State of Belarus and Russia is expected to begin in 2023, BelTA learned from Svetlana Ivanova, Head of the Economy and Industry-Specific Programs Department of the Standing Committee of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.

The realization of three new R&D programs of the Union State of Belarus and Russia is supposed to begin this year. They focus on research and development for the space industry, intellectual, high-tech digital and electronic components and systems for special-purpose and dual-purpose mechanical transport vehicles and laser equipment for processing various materials.

Another seven programs are going through the reconciliation process. Their implementation is supposed to begin in 2023. In particular, the programs are dedicated to the development of border security of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the improvement of military infrastructure installations, social adaptations, innovations in agriculture, creation of a platform for sport-gifted children. Over RUB3 billion has been put aside for implementing the programs.

A session of the Economic Policy Commission of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia took place in Brest on 24 March. Some of the speakers participated in the session via videoconference.
