MOSCOW, 28 September (BelTA) – A pool of scientific projects worth $2.5 billion has been formed in Belarus, BelTA learned from Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Belarus to Russia Dmitry Krutoi during the expert and media forum "Belarus-Russia cooperation in industry, science and technology. Science. Cosmos. Education".

Dmitry Krutoi said: “There are plans to increase the funding available to science in Belarus by 2.5 times by 2025 – from 0.6% to 1.5% of the GDP spending. A pool of projects worth $2.5 billion has been formed with that in mind. Apart from conventional industries it includes four priorities: robot technologies, biotechnologies, pharmaceutics, and nuclear energy.”

“It is extremely important to make sure these projects proceed smoothly without any hindrances. Apart from that, it is necessary to codify the right of scientists to risks,” the ambassador stressed.

Dmitry Krutoi added: “I would very much like us to work as synchronously as possible in contact with our Russian colleagues because problems are indeed common.”
