Russian venture company ready to evaluate, finance Belarusian innovative projects

OAO Russian Venture Company (RVC) intends to take part in the Belarusian national contest of innovative projects as an expert and an investor, BelTA learned from Anatoly Grishanovich, Acting Director of the Belarusian Innovative Foundation.

The relevant possibility was discussed in Moscow at the meeting of the Belarusian delegation led by State Science and Technology Committee Chairman Alexander Shumilin with RVC Director General Igor Agamirzyan. According to the Acting Director of the Belarusian Innovative Foundation, the Russian Venture Company was interested in taking part in the Belarusian national contest of innovative projects. Representatives of the company stated they are ready to invest in the projects they may become interested in, explained Anatoly Grishanovich.

The Russian specialists are expected to take part in evaluating the projects that have been submitted for the contest. They will also arrange seminars for specialists and will institute individual nominations. According to the source, the contest’s regulations allow foreign colleagues to participate in the evaluation stage. If they like a project, they are free to institute an additional nomination, a prize for it and then continue working with it, explained Anatoly Grishanovich.

The official also said that at the Moscow meeting the sides discussed prospects of long-term cooperation to create a venture financing mechanism in Belarus using international experience. “We asked our colleagues for assistance and they agreed to share their experience of creating venture companies. The meeting started cooperation in this area,” he said.

The operation of the venture company OOO EurAsEC Center for Innovative Technologies was also discussed. The Center was created by OAO Russian Venture Company, AO National Agency for Technological Development (Kazakhstan), and the Belarusian Innovative Foundation in April 2013.
