Solar plant to be built in Shchuchin District

A solar power plant is to be constructed in Shchuchin District, BelTA learnt from the economy committee of the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee.

The project is estimated at Br14.7 billion and is to be implemented by the company Agrokhimsvet registered in Shchuchin District. The investment project is being studied by the Grodno Oblast Executive Committee.

The solar power plant will have the capacity of 1.26MW and will be located on the area of three hectares in the village of Rozhanka, Shchuchin District. The project is to be implemented within two years; about 10 new jobs will be created.

The economy committee informed that private investors show a tremendous interest in the energy sector of Grodno Oblast. Two sites – one in Smorgon District and one in Dyatlovo District – have been allocated to fulfill energy projects. Two wind-powered generators will be commissioned in each of these sites.
