Ten countries to take part in Belarus Energy and Ecology Forum

Over 150 companies from ten countries have expressed their intention to take part in the 19th Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum which is due in Minsk in October, the press service of the Energy Ministry told BelTA after the meeting of the organizing committee.

Specialists note that over 20% of the participants are foreign companies. Among those wishing to visit forum are Belarus’ biggest companies that produce goods and present the interests of the world’s leading producers, as well as foreign companies interested in advancing their products to the Belarusian market.

According to the press service, in 2014 the forum will host the first presentation of an international project on science and innovation in energy and the development of cooperation with the EU in filling the gap between research and innovation in the energy sector. Apart from that, the forum will include the third Belarusian-German Energy Forum with the participation of the German Energy Agency (Dena).

The Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum will also play host to a congress “Energy. Ecology. Energy Saving. Electro”. Specialists will discuss the priority areas in the fuel and energy complex, enhancement of energy performance of the national economy of Belarus and environment issues. Partaking in the discussions will be energy ministers, heads of the ministries of housing and public utilities, national resources and environment, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, foreign experts, including the heads of the German and Austrian energy agencies.

The Belarusian Energy and Ecology Forum was first held in 1995 following the initiative of the Energy Ministry of Belarus. The annual event provides a regular review of the latest achievements in science, energy technology, energy saving, automation, electronics, environmental protection and the use of renewable energy resources.
