Turkey’s leading universities are interested in cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB), said Rector of Ataturk University Professor Hikmet Kocak during the signing of protocols on scientific cooperation between the NASB and Turkey’s three leading universities in Minsk on 28 August, BelTA has learnt.
From the Belarusian side the documents were signed by Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the NASB Vladimir Gusakov. Rectors of Ataturk University, Kilis 7 Aralik University and Agri Ibrahim Cecen University put their signatures on the document from the Turkish side.
During the negotiations it was noted that Turkish scholars see consider nano and biotechnologies, medicine, pharmaceutics, physics and chemistry the most interesting areas of cooperation with Belarusian colleagues. “The NASB jointly with the Turkish side are working on the projects in the area of biotechnologies in fishing and plant, medical and farm animal genetics. New agreements let us foster the development of cooperation,” Director of the NASB Institute of Genetics and Cytology Vladimir Kilchevsky said.
“Our university has joint projects with the National Academy of Sciences and we in Turkey attach great importance to their development,” the Rector of Ataturk University said.
Rectors of the Turkish universities are interested in cooperation in the training of scientific personnel and have already offered young Belarusian researchers the possibility to undergo training in Turkey.
The delegation of rectors of the major Turkish universities is on a visit in Belarus from 26 to 29 August upon the invitation of the NASB. During the visit they will get acquainted with the latest products and solutions of the NASB Institute of Genetics and Cytology, the NASB Scientific and Practical Materials Research Center, the Stepanov Institute of Physics, the United Institute of Informatics Problems and the NASB Central Botanic Garden.
