Young professionals and students will compete in 35 skills at WorldSkills Belarus 2016, the second installment of the national competition of professional skills, Belarus’ First Deputy Education Minister Vadim Bogush told a press conference, BelTA has learned.
WorldSkills Belarus will feature such sections as Construction and Building Technology, Manufacturing and Engineering, Transportation and Logistics (carpentry, cabinetmaking, electrical installations, joinery, plastering and drywall systems); Information and Communication Technology, Creative Arts and Fashion, Social and Personal Services (IT Network Systems Administration, Web Design, CNC Milling and also Bakery, Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing, Health and Social Care, Confectionary, etc.).
The jury panels will include more than 260 experts including those from the Republic of Korea, Finland, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan.
This year will see the first contest JuniorSkills Belarus among students of general secondary education institutions. Participants will compete in mobile robotics, industrial robots, system administration, unmanned aerial vehicles.
The international conference “Professional potential of the youth as an effective resource for economic and social development of contemporary society” will discuss modern approaches to the training of qualified personnel for innovative economy based on the WSI international standards.
The national competition of professional skills WorldSkills Belarus 2016 will be held at the Indoor Football Center in Minsk on 17-19 May. Competing in the event will be more than 250 students of vocational training, secondary specialized and higher education institutions of Belarus and also students from six countries.
After the competition the country will announce the national team who will go to Abu Dhabi for WorldSkills 2017.
