ZTE to carry out new IT projects in Belarus

The Chinese ZTE company plans to implement new IT projects in container shipping and customs control in Belarus, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Economy Ministry.

Belarusian Economy Minister Vladimir Zinovsky, a member of the official Belarusian delegation accompanying the Belarusian president on the working visit to China, met with ZTE’s top managers. Partaking in the meeting were senior officials of Belarus’ Ministry of Transport and Communications, the State Customs Committee, the State Science and Technology Committee and the China-Belarus industrial park Great Stone administration. The sides discussed the plans to build a factory to produce technological equipment in the park along with new IT projects in container shipping and customs control.

ZTE Corporation, a Chinese state-run company, is one of the world’s leading suppliers of telecom equipment, network solutions, and mobile devices.  ZTE is the world’s biggest filer of patent applications and one of the leading patent holders in the telecom industry. The corporation has been operating in Belarus for quite a long time. ZTE is carrying out IT projects to construct and develop telecom infrastructure, wireline and wireless broadband networks, cellular networks, produce and supply customer equipment, and other projects.

Belarus and ZTE are implementing mutually beneficial projects to provide training and additional training in the field of operation and maintenance of telecom equipment for students and specialists. ZTE has set up a telecom equipment factory in Belarus. The factory was among the first resident companies of the Great Stone industrial park. It plans to set up a venture to produce technological equipment.
