ZTE’s wireless technology lab to open in Belarusian BSUIR

A ZTE wireless technology lab will be opened at premises of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics (BSUIR). The project is envisaged by the memorandum of intent signed by BSUIR Rector Mikhail Batura and Director of the Belarusian company IOOO ZTE Tang Luhao, BelTA has learned.

In the educational lab university students and specialists, who are interested in improving their qualifications, will be able to polish their practical skills of operating state-of-the-art equipment used by mobile carriers. In the future conferences, seminars, meetings of ZTE specialists and BSUIR professors will be organized for the sake of sharing the best practices. BSUIR students will be able to get undergraduate training in the internationally recognized telecommunication company.

The BSUIR Rector told mass media that the establishment of the modern lab to study wireless technologies is a far-reaching decision. 4G and possibly 5G technologies may be studied here.

Students of the Information Radio Technologies Chair of the Radio Technology and Electronics Department will be primarily the ones to enjoy the opportunities the lab offers. According to the Rector, it may take up to half a year before the lab goes operational.

The IOOO ZTE company head underlined that the signing of the memorandum and the opening of the joint lab represent the company’s contribution to the development of strategic partnership between Belarus and China.

IOOO ZTE is part of the group of companies ZTE Corporation, which is a Chinese state telecommunication corporation with an internationally recognized name. ZTE has been present on the Belarusian market for over ten years. With ZTE’s support two educational centers have been opened in Belarus — in the Belarusian State Telecommunications Academy and the Belarusian State University.
