Belarusian MPs ratify amendment to Convention on Physical Protection of Nuclear Material
The bill was brought into the lower chamber of the Belarusian parliament by the Council of Ministers on 23 February. It ratifies the amendment, which was adopted by the conference convened in Vienna, Austria on 8 July 2005 to consider amendments to the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material.

Belarusian-Russian agreement on spent nuclear fuel ratified by parliament's lower chamber

Additional measures on radioactive waste management enacted in Belarus
The decree defines sources of funding the operation of a specifically authorized organization – the national operator for managing radioactive waste – and a general design organization, which is supposed to provide scientific support for designing and building facilities for managing radioactive waste.

Plans to select three alternative sites for storing radioactive waste in Belarus
Dmitry Pavlov said: “Preparatory work is in progress now. Approaches and criteria for selecting the site are being worked out. Plans are in place to select three alternative sites. After an objective evaluation of pros and cons of each of them the optimal variant will be chosen from the point of view of safety.”

Development of national nuclear infrastructures in CIS states discussed
The regulation was put together in furtherance of the action plan on realizing the program on developing the national nuclear infrastructures in the CIS member states. The program was adopted by the CIS Economic Council on 2 December 2022.
