MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – About 1,400MW worth of new power-generating facilities were commissioned in Belarus over five years, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.
Construction and reconstruction of power lines and the commissioning of power transformer facilities helped improve reserves of the united power grid by a lot. As much as 9,400km of power lines was built and reconstructed, about 2,200MW*A worth of power transformer facilities was commissioned.
Electric companies broadly use automation and digitization technologies. It enables prompt control over technological processes and improves the reliability of power supply.
Projects to introduce information technologies are being implemented in various branches of the Belarusian power engineering industry starting with the creation of smart distribution grids and ending with the provision of brand new services for customers, the Energy Ministry stressed.
