About 650,000 tonnes of Belarusian gasoline shipped to Russia in January-August

24.09.2015
In January-August 2015 Belarus shipped about 650,000 tonnes of gasoline to Russia, BelTA learned from Sergei Grib, Deputy Director General of ZAO Belarusian Oil Company, during the conference held on 24 September to discuss production, trading, and retail aspects of the market of oil products and natural gas in the Republic of Belarus.

Russia and Belarus have signed an agreement that requires the former to supply oil to the latter in return for oil products. According to the indicative balance of fuel and energy shipments in 2015 Russia is expected to sell 23 million tonnes of oil to Belarus while Belarus is supposed to ship 1.8 million tonnes of gasoline to Russia.

According to the source, Belarus has already shipped about 650,000 tonnes of gasoline to Russia. “We are constantly in touch with the Russian Federation with regard to gasoline shipments. We come to terms on delivery figures, because there are no problems with the volumes that we ship,” explained Sergei Grib.

Speaking about how much gasoline Russia will get by the end of the year, the executive noted that the market situation will determine the figure. “We are now selling gasoline. Things have settled. Prices are stabilized,” he noted. Asked whether this year’s lower shipments may result in revised plans for 2016, the Deputy Director General of Belarusian Oil Company responded by saying it was unlikely.

BelTA reported earlier that Belarus and Russia have agreed that 24 million tonnes of oil will be shipped to Belarus via pipelines in 2016 in return for 1 million tonnes of motor gasoline.
