Belarus’ electric power industry management system in for reforms

The management system of the Belarusian electric power industry will have been improved by 2019, Belarus’ Energy Minister Vladimir Potupchik told BelTA.

“The management system will be reformed, and many details will be included into the new law on electric power industry. The Energy Ministry and the Belarusian national electrical company Belenergo have analyzed the reforming experience of other energy systems, first of all, those of the post-Soviet countries making part of the Eurasian Economic Union and elaborated an algorithm with a gradual reforming of Belenergo,” said Vladimir Potupchik.

In accordance with the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union in part of the common electric power market development, the restructuring should be completed before 1 July 2019.
