Belarus expects to get 5.7m tonnes of Russian oil in Q1 2015

Belarus expects to get 5.7 million tonnes of Russian oil in the first quarter of 2015, chairman of the Belarusian petrochemical concern Belneftekhim Igor Lyashenko told reporters at the Council of Ministers headquarters on 20 December following the high-level meeting in Moscow, BelTA has learned.

“The fundamental agreements to supply 5.5 million tonnes of oil in Q1 2015 have been confirmed and the schedule of supplies has been approved. At the same time the Belarusian side asked to increase the amount up to 5.7 million tonnes,” Igor Lyashenko said. In his words, Russian Vice Premier Arkady Dvorkovich promised to consider the matter and give the answer on Wednesday [24 December]. Igor Lyashenko noted: “Overall, Belarus is satisfied with the current terms”.

The meeting on the level of the Vice Premiers of Belarus and Russia took place in Moscow on 19 December. The Belarusian delegation included First Deputy Premier Vladimir Semashko and Vice Premier Mikhail Rusy.
