Belarus, Germany to share experience in green energy

Representatives of the Belarusian Energy Ministry and the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of the Federal Republic of Germany and the German Energy Agency have gathered for a working meeting to discuss energy efficiency and renewable energy on 16-17 March, BelTA learned from the press service of the Energy Ministry.

Today, the parties will exchange the experiences in regulating electricity loads with significant output of renewable energy sources, involving the industrial sector in the regulation of daily loads in electricity consumption. On 17 March, the participants will visit the facilities of the Belarusian energy system using the green energy technologies: Vileika mini-CHP, and a biogas unit in the village of Lebedevo in Molodechno District.

On behalf of Belarus the event is attended by First Deputy Energy Minister Leonid Shenets, General Director of the Belenergo national electrical energy company Yevgeny Voronov. The German delegation includes the Director of the German Energy Agency Ulrich Benterbusch, the deputy head of the unit for bilateral cooperation in the energy policy of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy Jorg Kirsch.

The press service noted that the Belarusian-German meeting is taking place in the furtherance of the third Belarusian-German Energy Forum held in Minsk in October 2014. Appropriate agreements were also signed between the Belarusian national electrical energy company Belenergo and the German Energy Agency.
