Belarus, Moldova to step up cooperation in power engineering

Belarus and Moldova are in favor of stepping up cooperation in the area of power engineering. The relevant matters were discussed during the meeting of Belarusian Vice Prime Minister Mikhail Rusyi and Vice Prime Minister, Economy Minister of Moldova Andrian Candu in Chisinau on 24 September, representatives of the Moldovan Economy Ministry told BelTA.

The source noted that the situation in the region, particularly cooperation in energy sector, was the key topic of the meeting. The sides analyzed prospects of stepping up cooperation between the two countries in the area of power engineering and discussed the possibility of replenishing Moldova’s state reserves with furnace oil from Belarus.

The sides mentioned positive dynamics of trade and economic cooperation between Moldova and Belarus, stressing the importance of preserving the persistent advancement by stepping up relations between the two countries and increasing the trade flows, in particular, in manufacturing cooperation and trade in agricultural products.
