Belarus, Poland to step up cooperation in power engineering

Brest will host a session of the Belarus-Poland working group on cooperation in power engineering on 20-21 November, BelTA learned from the press service of the Energy Ministry of Belarus.

“The event is aimed at establishing new direct contacts between the Belarusian and Polish companies involved in power engineering and coordinating the approaches to the issues regarding the promotion of the cross-border trade in electricity,” the specialists said. For example, the session will discuss the development of the Ross-Narev transboundary power line and the cooperation in the use of the existing 110 kV line Brest 2-Wolka Dobrynska for cross-border trade and emergency aid.

Besides, the participants of the session will talk over the issues of cooperation in peat industry and other areas of mutual interest.

The working group will formulate suggestions to the draft protocol of the joint Belarus-Poland Economic Cooperation Commission that will meet on 1-2 December 2014.
