Belarus raises oil export duties

Belarus raised export duties on oil and oil products, which are exported outside the customs territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, on 1 May 2016. The relevant decision is stipulated by the Council of Ministers’ executive order No. 340 of 27 April 2016, the press service of the Belarus government told BelTA.

The export duty on crude oil went up from $54.9 to $66 per tonne. The duty on straight-run gasoline was raised from $38.9 per tonne to $46.8 per tonne, with the export duty on commercial gasoline up from $33.4 to $40.2 per tonne.

The export duty on light and medium distillates is now $26.4 per tonne, up from $21.9. The same rate is applied to diesel fuel, benzene, toluene, xylene, lubricants, and other oils.

The export duties on crude oil and some categories of derivative oil products were previously revised on 1 April. Then they were raised as well.
