The Emergencies Ministry of Belarus would like to exchange the experience in nuclear and radiation safety with the Interior Minsitry of Georgia. The issue was discussed during a joint meeting between Belarus’ Emergencies Minister Vladimir Vashchenko and Interior Minister of Georgia Irakli Garibashvili in Minsk, BelTA learned.
In particular, Vladimir Vashchenko noted the interest of the Belarusian side in the development of such areas of cooperation as collaboration in teaching children and youth the basics of life safety, sharing the experience in nuclear and radiation safety, and joint research. Besides, Georgian specialists are welcome to study in the educational institutions of the Emergencies Ministry.
The Georgian side was handed over the draft agreement between the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus and the Interior Ministry of Georgia on cooperation in the field of disaster management. The Interior Minister of Georgia expressed a strong interest in developing cooperation with Belarus in the field of prevention of emergency situations and relief effort, and also expressed his intention to send a delegation of the Emergency Management Center of the Interior Ministry of Georgia to Belarus to study the experience of the Emergencies Ministry and identify specific forms of interaction.
During the visit to Minsk the Georgian delegation got familiar with the working experience of the Emergencies Ministry of Belarus, its objectives and activities, material and technical equipment, educational and research institutions.
