Belarus to take part in IAEA Board of Governors session in Vienna

Belarus is going to take part in the session of the IAEA Board of Governors in the IAEA HQ in Vienna on 6-10 June, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian delegation will be led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov. The agenda includes preparations for the 60th session of the IAEA General Conference (26-30 September 2016), the review of the annual report on the IAEA operation, matters concerning nuclear safety, the development of nuclear sciences and technologies, technical cooperation, the application of nuclear armaments non-proliferation guarantees.

Valentin Rybakov is expected to meet with top executives of the IAEA Secretariat during the session.

The Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) meets five times a year to discuss major reports, the program and the budget of the IAEA, and to give recommendations on important aspects of the agency’s work to the General Conference.
