09.03.2015
The Belarusian Energy Ministry is considering possible ways to implement joint projects in the energy industry in Venezuela, the Ministry's press service told BelTA.
According to the source, cooperation with Venezuela is fruitful as part of contracts that envisage the installation of gas service in populated localities in Venezuela, the training of Venezuelan specialists, and the designing of gas networks. BelTA has been told that a contract for the delivery of 11,000 sets of equipment that will convert automobiles from using gasoline to liquefied gas has been completed. The contract was worth about $8 million.
Speaking about results achieved in cooperation with foreign partners in 2014, representatives of the Belarusian Energy Ministry said that, for instance, an action plan was agreed for the participation of the Belarusian enterprises affiliated with the Ministry in the implementation of several projects in Ecuador.
Relevant proposals in favor of stepping up cooperation in the energy sphere were sent to the Serbian Energy Ministry and the Serbian gas company Srbijagas. The Serbian side also received up-to-date information materials that highlight the capabilities of the enterprises affiliated with the Belarusian Energy Ministry.
Energy industry cooperation between Belarus and China is also vigorous. Chinese companies and banks make a considerable contribution to the large-scale modernization of the Belarusian power grid. Apart from that, cooperation in energy industry with India, Vietnam, and a number of other countries has been developing in a constructive manner.
Possible ways for Energy Ministry enterprises to advance to the markets of African countries have been considered. Proposals on cooperation in electrical and energy technologies were sent to the administration of the relevant government agency in Ghana. Prospects of mutually beneficial cooperation with companies in Kenya and Uganda are under consideration.
