Belarusian Naftan to raise export by 10% in 2015

15.04.2015
In 2015 the Belarusian petrochemical company Naftan intends to raise merchandise export in natural terms by roughly 10% in comparison with 2014, BelTA learned from Sergei Khomich, Head of the Oil Products Sales Office of the company, at a specialized industry conference on 15 April.

“In natural terms we intend to increase the export of oil products by roughly 10%,” said the executive. He pointed out that in cost terms the export sum may be reduced due to falling oil prices on the international market.

In his words, in 2014 Naftan exported about 7 million tonnes of merchandise, including over 850,000 tonnes of diesel fuel and about 190,000 tonnes of gasoline.

Sergei Khomich added that at present OAO Naftan, including the chemical factory Polymir, exports about 70% of the output.

The Novopolotsk-based oil refinery was commissioned in 1963. In 2002 the enterprise was reincorporated as a public joint-stock company. In 2008 the large chemical enterprise Polymir was merged with Naftan. OAO Naftan’s development program for 2010-2015 provides for increasing the oil processing volume up to 12 million tonnes per year.
