MINSK, 1 February (BelTA) – The Philosophy Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Keldysh Institute of Applied Mathematics of the Russian Academy of Sciences (KIAM RAS) will hold the 5th Belarusian-Russian applied science conference “Designing the future and horizons of digital reality” in Moscow on 3-4 February, the press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (NASB) told BelTA.

Participants of the conference are expected to discuss a broad range of problems concerning current cultural and civilization development, primarily in the context of innovative social dynamics and the designing of a model of the stable future of the peoples of Belarus and Russia. The topics Belarusian and Russian scientists are expected to discuss will include philosophical problems of the civilizational development of the modern world, Belarus' and Russia's place in global civilizational processes, the establishment and development prospects of the global society in a digital and post-pandemic age, a strategy of development of the digital society and the digital economy in an ever changing world. Close attention will be paid to such matters as the strategy and avenues of technological modernization, the relevant risks and challenges, the human being in the age of artificial intelligence and robot technology revolution, prospects and risks of development of the modern civilization.

The press service of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus stressed that the expected synergistic effect of integration formations of the Union State of Belarus and Russia as well as the Eurasian Economic Union requires complex coordinated efforts to work out a common development strategy, including in the digital sphere. Hosted by the Business and Cultural Complex of the Embassy of Belarus and Russia, the already traditional Belarusian-Russian conference represents a platform for working out science-based mechanisms for securing the sustainable development of Belarus and Russia in a rapidly changing world of the digital reality. The innovation race on the global market, the epidemic situation caused by the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus infection, the pressure of sanctions, and so on have brought to the forefront primarily the matters of preserving the sovereignty, ensuring security and the competitive ability in the international scene, the NASB press service said.

Digital transformation, which is viewed as a most important driver and a major vector of development of the global economy and the global information society as a whole, has been part of the national strategies of both Belarus and the Russian Federation for many years already.

Sessions of the conference will be broadcast online and arrangements will be made to enable online participation in the conference.
