Belorusneft seismologists have started working on the first contract to conduct field works in Krasnodar Krai, BelTA learned from the company’s press service.
Belarusians are conducting 3D seismic exploration on an area of 55 square kilometers and 2D exploration on an area of 130 linear kilometers near Krymsk. The works are stipulated by the contract signed by Belorusneft and Geoseis Technology. Five СВ-30/120Н vibroseis sources made by Gomel-based Seismotekhnika were shipped to Russia as part of the contract. Eight seismology specialists also went to Russia to conduct the works.
Geoseis Technology is part of the Geoseis Holding Company. It specializes in geological survey and geophysical studies. Belarusian seismologists have been cooperating with this company for over 15 years already. Belarus regularly sends its personnel and equipment to conduct seismic exploration works in various parts of the Russian Federation.
Once in two years Russian and Belarusian geologists hold geophysical seminars in Rechitsa in a bid to establish new contacts, study global trends in seismology and analyze a possibility to introduce modern technologies and equipment.
The export of seismic exploration services has turned into an important line of business for Belorusneft. Belarusian specialists conduct seismic prospecting in Venezuela and Ecuador. Cooperation with other countries is also on the agenda. Belarusian seismologists usually use equipment produced by Seismotekhnika.
Several days ago the company passed the audit of its quality management system conducted by the American Petroleum Institute. The company was the first in the CIS to get a certificate of compliance with the API Spec Q1, 4F quality standards. API certificates will allow the company to strengthen its positions on foreign markets.
The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft was founded in 1966. The company specializes in the surveying, prospecting and development of oil fields, well drilling, oil and associated petroleum gas extraction in Belarus and a number of other countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Ecuador and Venezuela.
