Belorusneft expects commercial oil reserves in southern Belarus
27.02.2014
Geologists from Belorusneft say recoverable oil may be found in the northern part of Pripyat Hollow at the border between Zhlobin District and Svetlogorsk District, BelTA learnt from the press service of the enterprise.
The conclusion has been prompted by a 2D seismic survey carried out in this region. The data is currently being processed at Belorusneft’s engineering center BelNIPIneft. The obtained data will help determine the contours of oil-bearing areas and make decisions on further prospecting works in the region. There is one more reason to continue work here: oil inflow has been registered at oil well No.3 (Olanskaya), which was drilled here not long ago.
The industrial group Belorusneft produces oil and gas at 63 deposits in Belarus.
The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft was founded in 1966. The company specializes in the surveying, prospecting and development of oil fields, well drilling and the extraction of oil and associated petroleum gas in Belarus and other countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela and Ecuador.
