30.05.2016
The Belarusian oil extraction company Belorusneft has been granted access to the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE)’s global resource for sharing technical information in the sphere of oil and gas prospecting and extraction, the Belorusneft press service told BelTA.

A memorandum of understanding was signed by representatives of Belorusneft and the SPE regional supervisory board in Gomel. Belorusneft undertakes to support the establishment of an SPE regional section in Belarus. Belorusneft will be able to access global information resources, will take part in training sessions, technical exhibitions and conferences, and will be able to invite experts to read lectures three times a year.

SPE uses digital platforms, education programs, publications, and training courses involving representatives of the world’s top oil companies to spread the word about the latest accomplishments and advances in the area of prospecting, development, and operation of deposits in various oil-bearing regions. The platform allows specialists and future oil industry workers to improve their professional skills and learn more about their trade.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) is an international non-for-profit association that unites over 168,000 oil and gas industry professionals in 144 countries as well as students and professors in the relevant higher education institutions. The Society’s history dates back to 1957. SPE offices are located in Dallas, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, London, Moscow, and Houston.

The Belarusian industrial group Belorusneft was founded in 1966. The company specializes in the surveying, prospecting and development of oil fields, well drilling, oil and associated petroleum gas extraction in Belarus and a number of other countries, including Russia, Ukraine, Venezuela, and Ecuador.
