Concept to develop Belarus’ energy grid till 2020 drafted

A draft concept to guide the development of the national power engineering system till 2020 has been developed in Belarus, representatives of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.
The tasks the document outlines are meant to ensure the optimal development of the energy system till 2020 through modernization, better reliability and cost effectiveness taking into account the commissioning of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, said the source.
The draft concept outlines goals, tasks, indicators, deadlines, customers and executors of the government program. The document also provides a preliminary evaluation of the necessary resources and possible sources of finance. The document is now being reviewed by all the agencies concerned.
