Forecasts on world energy market development at Moscow forum

Nuclear energy and industry leaders will gather for the 6th international forum Atomexpo 2014 to discuss the role of nuclear generation in the energy mix of the 21st century, analyze the main problems and ways for the world’s energy market development, BelTA learnt from the Atomexpo (Russia) press service.

The forum which is due in Moscow on 9-11 June will highlight nuclear energy as a condition for energy stability. It is expected that partaking in the event will be representatives of Belarus.

The IAEA forecasts point to a sustainable increase in the number of nuclear power plants worldwide in the next 20 years. According to the experts, nuclear energy can promote energy security, reduce the influence of unstable prices on organic fuel, mitigate the consequences of the climate change and made the national economies more competitive.

Over the time of its existence, the Atomexpo forum has become one of the central platforms to discuss the current issues of the world’s nuclear energy and develop trends of its further development. The forthcoming forum will feature a specialized exhibition and a congress with the participation of representatives of international, state and public organizations, Russian and foreign companies.

Atomexpo was first held in Moscow in 2009. The 5th international forum Atomexpo 2013 in St. Petersburg gathered over 2,000 participants from 42 countries.
