Gazprom invites Belarus to partake in pipe-laying project in Serbia, Bulgaria

Gazprom has invited Belarus to take part in a project to lay the Yamal-Europe 2 pipeline on the territory of Serbia and Bulgaria on subcontracting terms, BelTA learnt from the press service of the Belarusian Embassy in Russia following the talks between First Deputy Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko and Gazprom CEO Alexei Miller and his deputies in Saint Petersburg on 20 June.

The talks were constructive; the sides reached understanding on all the key points of the agenda. They confirmed their readiness to implement joint projects. Belarus was suggested a subcontract to lay the Yamal-Europe 2 pipeline on the territory of Serbia and Bulgaria. The parties also discussed supplies of Belarusian machinery for Gazprom.

Taking part in the talks were Energy Minister of Belarus Vladimir Potupchik, head of the main directorate for international cooperation and trade of the Council of Ministers’ Office Sergei Shukhno and head of the Saint Petersburg office of the Belarusian Embassy in the Russian Federation Oleg Tabanyukhov.
