Khristenko: Oil duties will be addressed at bilateral level

The issues regarding the duties on oil products will be addressed at the bilateral level as it has been before, Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Viktor Khristenko said following the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council meeting on 29 April, BelTA has learnt.

“Today the duties on oil products are the subject of bilateral agreements and will be regulated at the bilateral level until the common market is formed,” Viktor Khristenko said.

"Will there be any transformation in this regard and which kind of transformation? This will become clear as the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation advance in the work on the Eurasian Economic Union treaty," he added.

With regard to the HQ of the supranational body, Viktor Khristenko noted that it was decided to keep the status quo, which means that the Commission will continue its operation in Moscow. Talking about the establishment of a financial regulator, Viktor Khristenko reported that according to the Treaty on the Eurasian Economic Union the financial regulator shall be formed in 2025 with HQ in Almaty.
