Mozambique invites Belarusian businessmen to develop natural gas deposits together, BelTA learned from Executive Director of the Confederation of Economic Associations of Mozambique Rogerio Manuel at the Belarusian-Mozambican business meeting in the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Minsk on 22 July.
“Large reserves of natural gas have been found in Mozambique. This sphere can be promising for investments by Belarusian businessmen and for cooperation,” noted the Executive Director.
According to the source, companies from Italy and the USA are now involved in the development and extraction of natural gas in Mozambique. Coal deposits have been explored in Mozambique, too, and coal mines are being built. “We are interested in cooperation in this sphere with representatives of small and medium business of Belarus, who could participate in the implementation of major projects,” stressed Rogerio Manuel.
Deputy Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Ulakhovich remarked that the joint development of natural gas deposits is a promising proposal for Belarus. “Africa is rich in mineral resources and subsoil assets. In turn, Belarus can offer its technologies, for instance, those used by Belaruskali. We already have partners in Southeastern Asia and Latin America in this regard. These technologies can also be in demand in Africa,” believes the BelCCI representative.
