Mozyr Oil Refinery and Naftan will increase the extraction of light oil products to match the production volumes of world-best oil refineries, Belarus’ Vice Premier Vladimir Semashko said at a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the Council of the Republic on 30 June, BelTA has learned.
According to the Vice Premier, the abovementioned companies have been implementing large-scale investment projects. Mozyr Oil Refinery is constructing a plant for hydrocracking heavy oil residue. Naftan is building a delayed coking facility. “These projects will help raise the production of light oil products to reach the level of the world’s leading oil refineries,” stressed Vladimir Semashko. Moreover, the oil conversion ratio will go up to 90-92%.
A total of $1.4 billion will be invested in each project. The construction of the plant for hydrocracking heavy oil residue at the Mozyr Oil Refinery is due to be complete in H1 2017. The Naftan project will be implemented by 2018.
According to Vladimir Semashko, three investment projects were completed at the Belarusian oil refineries in 2016.
