Mozyr Oil Refinery eager to export more to Ukraine in summer, autumn

14.04.2015
Mozyr Oil Refinery intends to export more oil products to Ukraine in summer and autumn, BelTA learned from Vladimir Sizov, Deputy Director General of OAO Mozyr Oil Refinery, on 14 April.

“During the summer-autumn period shipments to the Ukrainian market will be raised,” said Vladimir Sizov. In Q1 2015 Ukraine reduced the import of Belarusian oil products by roughly 15-20% in physical terms. The executive pointed out that while making the comparison one should bear in mind the fact that automobile fuel consumption is affected by seasonal trends.

Asked whether there were any problems with getting payment for the oil products supplied to Ukraine, the executive said that there are no major difficulties. “There were certain concerns, particularly in late February when executive orders were passed to regulate payments in advance,” he admitted.

Vladimir Sizov said that in 2014 Ukraine bought roughly one third of its total imported automobile gasoline in Belarus via Belarusian Oil Company. Apart from that, Belarus accounts for over 50% of the diesel fuel Ukraine imports (primarily of Mozyr Oil Refinery make). Mozyr Oil Refinery also supplies liquefied gases to the Ukrainian market.

Mozyr Oil Refinery was commissioned in 1975 and reincorporated into a public joint-stock company (OAO) in 1994. The share of the State Property Committee of Belarus in the company’s charter fund stands at 42.76%, that of OAO NGK Slavneft 42.58%, OOO Mozyr Oil Refinery Plus 12.25%, natural persons 2.41%. The company specializes in oil refining, manufacturing and selling oil products. In 2014 the company processed over 12 million tonnes of oil. For the first time the oil conversion ratio reached 72%, with the output of light oil products at 60%.
