Mozyr Oil Refinery resumes oil products shipment to Ukraine by river
21.04.2014
OAO Mozyr Oil Refinery has resumed the shipment of oil products to Ukraine by river after the winter season, the company’s press service told BelTA.
The company ships diesel fuel along the Pripyat River and the Dnepr River to Ukrainian customers. The river port in Mozyr and an oil barge are used for it. The barge can transport 750 tonnes per trip as its optimal load. It takes two days for the barge to travel from Mozyr to Kyiv.
By the end of April the Belarusian company plans to ship 8,000 tonnes of oil products to Ukraine. Mozyr Oil Refinery did not rule out the possibility of shipping more by river in the future if the delivery solution proves its economic expediency. In time transportation by river may grow to be a serious alternative to transportation by rail.
Mozyr Oil Refinery was commissioned in 1975 and reincorporated into a public joint-stock company (OAO) in 1994. The share of the State Property Committee of Belarus in the company’s charter fund stands at 42.76%, that of OAO NGK Slavneft 42.58%, OOO Mozyr Oil Refinery Plus 12.25%, natural persons 2.41%. The company specializes in oil refining, manufacturing and selling oil products. Certified products account for roughly 95% of the total output.
