National report on Belarusian nuclear power plant stress tests forwarded to European Commission

MINSK, 8 November (BelTA) – The national report on results of the stress tests of the Belarusian nuclear power plant has been forwarded to the European Commission, BelTA learned from Head of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry (Gosatomnadzor) Olga Lugovskaya on 8 November.

According to the official, the report on results of the stress tests of the Belarusian nuclear power plant has been forwarded to the European Commission.

According to the Gosatomnadzor head, a team of European experts stands by to partake in the review of the national report on results of stress-testing the Belarusian nuclear power plant. It usually takes several months to review such a document. “According to prior arrangements, we expect European experts to visit Belarus in March for the sake of discussions, interviewing, for exchanging opinions and possibly formulating proposals regarding our national report,” she explained.

Olga Lugovskaya added that the report will be made available to the general public within the next few days. “I think we will publish it in Russian on the Gosatomnadzor website today or tomorrow,” she said. The document will be published in English on the website of the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG).
