Belarus, Poland mull over wind farm in Zelva

Belarus and Poland are mulling over the establishment of a wind farm in Zelva, Grodno Oblast, Chairman of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Vladimir Ulakhovich told reporters before the Belarusian-Polish economic forum Good Neighborliness 2016 on 24 October, BelTA has learned.

“Plans have been made to set up a wind farm in Zelva. The cost of the project is estimated at $3 million,” Vladimir Ulakhovich said.

The BCCI chairman said that Belarus and Poland are mulling over the possibility to implement about ten serious business projects. “In particular, plans have been made to implement a big project to open a tennis center in Minsk with the participation of the Polish company Unibep (this company has built Victoria Hotel in Minsk. – BelTA’s note), the cost of the project is estimated at $30 million. Plans have been made to implement a large-scale project to build a trade center in Grodno (over $60 million),” Vladimir Ulakhovich said. Besides, it is planned to launch the production of yogurts in Grodno, implement a large-scale project in the free economic zone of Mogilev Oblast to make IKEA products (about $35 million).

The Belarusian-Polish economic forum Good Neighborliness 2016 takes place in Minsk on 24 October. The event aims to promote bilateral trade and economic cooperation and enhance cooperation ties of Belarus and Poland in various sectors of the economy. The program of the forum includes a plenary session and three sections, namely “Interregional cooperation and development, “Creation of the favorable investment climate. Benefits and risks”, “Doing business conditions. Open economy and market protection”. Belarusian Polish businessmen will hold a business matchmaking session.
