Pilot projects to switch mass transit systems to electric vehicles in final stage in Belarus

MINSK, 27 March (BelTA) – The Industry Ministry has started the final stage of the pilot projects designed to enable mass transit in Belarus’ regions using electric vehicles, BelTA has learned.

The pilot projects are in progress in the city of Zhodino and in Shklov District. Two Belarusian manufacturers of passenger electric vehicles are taking part in them: MAZ and BKM (previously known as Belkommunmash).

The Industry Ministry press service added that solemn ceremony to hand over the electric vehicles will take place on 27-28 March. Distinguished guests are expected to participate in them.
