The Forum of Engineering and Technology Universities of the Belarus-Russia Union State should become a regular event, State Secretary of the Union State Grigory Rapota told journalists on 8 October, BelTA has learned.

“The engineering and technology universities came up with the idea to organize the forum. It is very important to gather, exchange points of view, and speak about the future. I believe it is my duty to make sure such forums turn into traditional events with many participants and be provided with all the necessary information support. We have been organizing such forums for two years, and our experience shows that these events are very useful. I wish this movement to become a good tradition involving many participants. I hope the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) will become the main platform for such forums,” the State Secretary said.

In turn, Belarusian Education Minister Sergei Maskevich noted that in Belarus there are many talented young people who have ideas and know how to implement them. The forums foster communication between the participants who later create new projects. “It is very important for us to see that the Union State pays attention to this matter and helps young people implement their projects,” he said.

The forum of projects of Union State programs - the Third Forum of the Union State Engineering and Technology Universities of Russia and Belarus is expected to support the innovative businesses of young people and involve talented youth into innovation activities. A platform will be created to provide joint support for talented young people and innovative entrepreneurship.

The forum will discuss the energy security of the Union State. For example, the section meetings “Energy Security of the Union State” will feature workshops on alternative energy industry, energy security, personnel strategy, and education, and working meetings will discuss joint projects of the Union State.

The forum has been organized by the BNTU, the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (National Research University) with the support of the Union State Permanent Committee, the Belarusian Education Ministry, and the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
