Rosatom’s commitments before Ukraine, other foreign partners fully honored

10.06.2014
Rosatom fully honors its commitments before foreign partners, including Ukraine. The statement was made by Kirill Komarov, Deputy Director General for Development and International Business of the Russian state corporation Rosatom, during AtomExpo 2014 in Moscow on 10 June, BelTA has learned.

“Rosatom’s position is clear: despite the current political situation, which can be complicated at times, we fully honor our commitments both across the globe and with regard to Ukrainian nuclear power plants. The Russian side supplies Ukraine with fuel and takes away spent nuclear fuel. And we are very thankful for our Ukrainian counterparts reciprocating our commitments 100%,” stressed the executive.

According to the executive, Rosatom is a commercial entity and is not involved in political maneuvering.

“There are no sanctions or restrictions with regard to any operations of ours abroad. Rosatom calmly works on markets across the globe, including in the USA and Ukraine. There are 15 power-generating units in Ukraine. All of them have been built using Russian designs. All the units receive fuel in accordance with this year’s schedule that was signed last year. I can also say that we have practically no problems with getting paid for the fuel we deliver. Rosatom has been working with Ukrainian enterprises on a prepaid basis for many years. We have already received over 80% of the money envisaged by this year’s program as advance payments,” said Kirill Komarov.

The 6th international forum AtomExpo 2014 is scheduled to take place in Moscow on 9-11 June.
