Russia provides Ukrainian NPPs with fuel

Russia provides an uninterrupted supply of fuel for the Ukrainian nuclear power plants. This statement was made by the head of Rosatom Sergey Kiriyenko at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, BelTA learned from the state corporation.

"We are now experiencing not the easiest situation in the relations with Ukraine. But all nuclear power plants in Ukraine are provided with the supply of the Russian fuel. We take away the spent fuel. We have not had a failure for a single day," Sergei Kiriyenko said. According to Rosatom, the operator of four nuclear power plants in Ukraine is a state-owned enterprise Energoatom, which operates 15 reactors.

"We have a complicated balance of competition and partnership with other companies in the world. Due to long-term projects, I confess the philosophy: the partnership is much more than the competition. With almost all our competitors we have versatile joint projects and partnerships," the head of Rosatom added.
