Russia to supply 23m tonnes of oil to Belarus in 2015

21.10.2014
The Union State Council of Ministers approved the indicative energy balances for 2015, BelTA has learned.

The balances have been approved for one year. "Belarus will receive 23 million tonnes of oil, including 22 million tonnes by pipelines," a source in the Belarusian Council of Ministers told BelTA. Accordingly, Belarus will supply oil products to Russia in the agreed amounts. "All pricing principles will be market-driven," he said.

The source in the Council of Ministers said that if Belarus deviates of the volume of motor petrol supplied to the Russian market by more than 10%, the parties shall enter into consultations, and Russia has the right to adjust oil supplies depending on this.

On 21 October the Union State Council of Ministers approved the indicative budgets of key commodity resources. They provide for the increase in the supplies of Belarusian products to Russia, especially food products.

The Union State energy balance determines the volume of mutual supplies of raw materials and finished products such as oil products for one year. In 2014, Belarus will get 23 million tonnes of oil, of which 21.5 million tonnes will be delivered by pipeline.
This amount is based on the socio-economic development plans adopted for this year. In 2013, the Belarusian oil refineries were supplied with 5.75 million tonnes of Russian oil quarterly.
