The Belarusian construction workers, who demonstrate excellent skills during the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, may be invited by Russian companies that specialize in building nuclear industry facilities to cooperate in implementing projects in third countries, Valery Limarenko, head of the Russian merged company NIAEP-ASE, told Russian mass media.
BelTA has learned that the head of the company, which is the general designer and the general contractor in the project to build the Belarusian nuclear power plant, spoke in glowing terms about Belarusian specialists as highly qualified professionals, who learn well. “Once the facility is commissioned, we would like to acquire partners among Belarusian construction companies and mechanical engineering companies. Together we could go to other countries, for other projects,” said Valery Limarenko.
The Belarusian nuclear power plant will comprise two power-generating units with the total output capacity of up to 2,400MW (1,200MW each). The design AES-2006 has been chosen for building the power plant. The design is fully compliant with international norms and IAEA recommendations. The first power-generating unit is scheduled for commissioning in 2018, with the other one expected to go online in 2019 at the latest.
