Surikov: Final decision on oil supplies to Belarus in H1 2014

16.04.2014
The final decision on oil supplies to Belarus in 2014 will be adopted in H1 2014, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to Belarus Alexander Surikov told media on 16 April, BelTA has learnt.

According to Alexander Surikov, the decision will be made at the Union State government meeting. The agreement on the supply of 23 million tonnes of oil to Belarus in 2014 is currently in force. “We still have an agreement on the semi-annual balance approved at the volume of 11.5 million tonnes. As far as I know, the Belarusian oil refineries operate as usual,” the diplomat said.

The Ambassador was also asked to comment on the meeting of the Premiers of the Customs Union member states in Moscow on 15 April. Alexander Surikov noted that the states “have some functional disagreements” which have not been regulated yet. Some of them pertain to exceptions and restrictions in trade. The Ambassador expressed hope that all the issues would be settled in the near future.
