Training in Nizhny Novgorod for Belarusian nuclear energy students

Students from top Belarusian universities, who are studying to become nuclear energy specialists, will be able to undergo training at the basic chair of the Russian company NIAEP in the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University, BelTA learned from the Public Relations and Information Policy Office of the Russian company.

The relevant agreement was reached when a Belarusian delegation visited the Russian company’s basic chair in the Nizhny Novgorod university. The delegation included representatives of the Belarusian Education Ministry, the Belarusian State University, the Belarusian National Technical University, the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, and the International Sakharov Environmental University.

In the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University the guests were demonstrated modern education programs, including distance education, for training and retraining nuclear industry specialists.

NIAEP’s basic chair in the Nizhny Novgorod State Technical University was founded in 2012 to offer training in control systems of engineering installations in line with the agreement on training personnel for NIAEP.

The Russian merged company OAO NIAEP – ZAO Atomstroyexport (ASE) is the general designer and the general contractor for building the Belarusian nuclear power plant in Ostrovets, Grodno Oblast. The power plant will boast two power-generating units with the total generating capacity of up to 2,400MW (1,200MW each). The Russian design AES-2006 has been chosen to build the power plant. The design is fully compliant with international standards and IAEA recommendations. As of 5 April as much as 5% of the total work required to build the Belarusian nuclear power plant was completed.
