The work on new contracts on gas supply and transit via Belarus in 2015-2017 is nearing completion, the Gazprom press service told BelTA following the meeting of First Deputy Premier of Belarus Vladimir Semashko and Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee Alexey Miller in Moscow on 26 November, BelTA has learned.
“Vladimir Semashko and Alexey Miller discussed in detail the supplies of gas to Belarus and gas transit via the territory of the country in 2015-2017. The parties noted that the work on the new contracts has almost been finished,” the Gazprom press service informed.
It noted that Gazprom augmented operating gas reserves in Belarusian underground storages from 920 million cubic meters (as of the start of the gas withdrawal season in 2013) to over 1 billion cubic meters. The company also increased the maximum daily production from 18 to 31 million cubic meters.
Gazprom informed that investments in the upgrade and renovation of Belarus’ gas transportation system over the past two years nearly doubled and made up about RUB3 billion in 2013. The figure is expected to approximate RUB4 billion in 2014.
