Belarus intends to continue cooperation with IAEA on BelNPP project

Belarus intends to continue close cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) on the construction of the Belarusian nuclear power plant, Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Valentin Rybakov said as he met with IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano, BelTA learned from the Twitter account of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
According to Valentin Rybakov, the fact that Belarus publishes the reports of the IAEA and other international organizations shows the country’s openness as it is implementing the BelNPP project. The deputy minister pointed out that Belarus had made the IAEA Integrated Nuclear Infrastructure Review and Site and External Events Design (SEED) Review available to the public.
Valentin Rybakov and Yukiya Amano met on the sidelines of the session of the IAEA Board of Governors and discussed Belarus-IAEA cooperation under the IAEA technical cooperation program and the preparation of national projects on technical cooperation with Belarus for 2018-2019.
As BelTA reported earlier, the Belarusian delegation led by Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Belarus' representative in the IAEA Board of Governors Valentin Rybakov is partaking in the regular session of the IAEA Board of Governors running in the IAEA HQ in Vienna, Austria from 12 to 16 June.
