MINSK, 10 January (BelTA) – The Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) was incorporated into the Belarusian national electric company Belenergo on 1 January 2020, BelTA learned from the Belenergo press service.
“This decision will allow developing and pursuing a uniform technical policy in electricity generation,” the Belenergo informed.
In line with a plan to improve administration within the Energy Ministry structure, a new agency, State Energy and Gas Inspectorate, was established on 1 April 2019. That helped separating economic functions (Belenergo) from surveillance functions (Gosenergonadzor).
On 17 December 2019 the Economy Ministry issued a registration certificate to Belenergostroy Holding Company that will manage shares of a number of other companies, including Belelektromontazhnaladka, Belenergosvyaz, Belselelektrosetstroy, Belenergozashchita, and Zapadelektrosetstroy.
The work to incorporate the ODU company into Belenergo was completed by 31 December 2019.
“The structural reforms will help streamline the management of organizations that make part of Belenergo,” the press service noted.
