MINSK, 19 June (BelTA) – An intersystem emergency response exercise of operators and dispatchers of the Belarusian power grid took place on 18 June. It was the first time personnel of the state enterprise Belarusian Nuclear Power Plant had taken part in the exercise. A total of over 30 people were involved, BelTA learned from Press Secretary of the Belarusian Energy Ministry Olga Kozlovich.
The exercise scenario envisaged the disconnection of the first unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant from the rest of the power grid and the consequent efforts of the personnel and automatic emergency response systems to resolve the emergency.
Interaction between operating and dispatching personnel of various administration levels of the Belarusian power grid was practiced.
The exercise was arranged by the operations control center of the Belarusian national energy company Belenergo.
