MINSK, 26 May (BelTA) – A comprehensive inspection of technical parameters of equipment and systems of the second unit of the Belarusian nuclear power plant continues as part of the reactor power startup program, the press service of the Belarusian Energy Ministry told BelTA.

Specialists have started dynamic trials in a mode that provides for fully powering down the second unit and disconnecting it from the power grid. Before moving onto the next stage – pilot commercial operation of the unit – the specialists need to make sure that all the systems and equipment, including safeguards, operate reliably and in compliance with design parameters.

This sequence of trials, including the unit's disconnection from the national power grid, is part of the world practice. A large range of various tests and trials are arranged before a nuclear power plant is fully commissioned.
