Auditing agencies of Belarus and Russia intend to look into the financial discipline at the construction site of the Belarusian nuclear power plant. The proposal was discussed during the joint session of the boards of the State Control Committee of Belarus and the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation on 22 October, BelTA has learned. The session was focused on the execution of the 2014 budget of the Union State of Belarus and Russia.
Head of the Russian auditing agency Tatiana Golikova mentioned the intention to jointly audit the Belarusian nuclear power plant. “If you back the proposal, we will send the relevant draft resolution on carrying out the joint audit,” she told Belarusian colleagues.
Chairman of the State Control Committee of Belarus Leonid Anfimov thanked his Russian counterpart for the proposal. He called it a very large-scale event in interaction between the top auditing agencies of the two countries. The official stressed that the idea is within the framework of the efforts to fulfill the Belarus president’s instructions to constantly monitor the progress of the construction project and the spending of the money allocated to build the Belarusian nuclear power plant. “We have to decide on the timeframe,” added Leonid Anfimov.
